i'm trying to be healthier. i've started to take vitamins and calcium pills. i'm drinking more water every day. i'm wearing sunscreen when i go out. i'm exercising more, thanks to all the time i'm spending outside cleaning up our yard and gardening. i'm trying to get into a regular sleep routine, but i'm a night owl and stay up late and then sleep in late. i'm trying to eat healthier, more fruits and veggies, less junk food. its hard to make all these things habits.

i decided to grow my hair out. for a couple of reasons. the first being financial. not having a job, i'm using my pennies wisely, and while my hairdresser is cheap for the great job she does, it still is a lot to spend right now. thats also the reason i bought hair coloring to do myself at home. lets hope it turns out ok. just gotta cover the lighter roots that are coming in. second, i'm kinda sick of my bangs. i've had them for a few years now, and i think its time for a different look. i'm over having to style them while i do nothing to the rest of my hair. i've taking to pinning them back and with the curls it looks cute. more summery. third, i think i'm gonna grow it out til near my birthday and then maybe do something dramatic before i turn the big three zero. its alot longer than it has been the last few years. i kinda like it. i've always loved long dark curls, and now i've got them.

I don't know whats going on with my job at the bakery. When I got back from vacation I called to see if I was on the schedule and I wasn't, and I was told one of the owners wanted to talk to me before I was put on the schedule. When I called her, she said call back on Monday after Easter that she was too busy to talk. I called on Monday and she said that there wasn't room for me on the schedule that week and said something about me not being around for Easter. I said I made sure I was home before Easter that I planned my trip that way because I knew it was gonna be busy. She then agreed that I was back 4 days before Easter and didn't know why I wasn't put on the schedule. I said if there was a problem with my vacation why wasn't something said when I put notice in a month before! She said I was right. Then I asked if I did anything wrong and she said no and I said that I thought I worked hard and that I was really hurt. There was a very long pause and she said she's talk to the manager and get back to me. No one got back to me. I called today to see if I was on the schedule and I'm not. I've talked to some of my coworkers and they don't know whats going on either.

I don't know what to do. I'm really hurt, and terrbily depressed. I like working there and I liked the people except for the management and how I was treated. But my coworkers and customers are great. I've already started looking for a new job. I was never told I was fired, but someone could have the decency to tell me what is going on. I don't deserve to be treated this way.

Sorry for the long rant. Please keep this situation in your prayers. Luckily I have money in my savings for my bills next months and I'm owed some money in tips so I'm OK without a job for now.

Had a wonderful weekend celebrating one of my favorite holidays. This year was different than the past, though, because I work at an Irish bakery, so it was very very very busy and very very very tiring. Nothing a few dozen beers over the weekend couldn't cure. Now I'm detoxing and trying to recover my liver. At least until next week when I go to Ireland!!! I can't wait to see Billy. I haven't seen him since he left here in January. Its been very hard.

As I have done in the past, here are a few of my favorite Irish jokes. Enjoy!

There's a Fly in My Guinness!

One day, an Englishman, a Scotsman, and an Irishman walked into a pub together. They each proceeded to buy a pint of Guinness. Just as they were about to enjoy their creamy beverage, three flies landed in each of their pints, and became stuck in the thick heads.
The Englishman pushed his beer away from him in disgust. The Scotsman fished the offending fly out of his beer and continued drinking as if nothing had happened.
The Irishman also picked the fly out of his drink. He held it out over the beer and then started yelling, "Spit it out! Spit it out, you bastard!"

How great is that!!!! Another one of my favorites:

An Irish man walks into a pub. The bartender asks him, "what'll you have?" The man says, "Give me three pints of Guinness please."
So the bartender brings him three pints and the man proceeds to alternately sip one, then the other, then the third until they're gone. He then orders three more.
The bartender says, "Sir, I know you like them cold. You don't have to order three at a time. I can keep an eye on it and when you get low I'll bring you a fresh cold one."
The man says, "You don't understand. I have two brothers, one in Australia and one in the States. We made a vow to each other that every Saturday night we'd still drink together. So right now, my brothers have three Guinness stouts too, and we're drinking together.
The bartender thought that was a wonderful tradition.
Every week the man came in and ordered three beers. Then one week he came in and ordered only two. He drank them and then ordered two more. The bartender said to him, "I know what your tradition is, and I'd just like to say that I'm sorry that one of your brothers died."
The man said, "Oh, me brothers are fine - I just quit drinking."

One more thing I'd like to share with you:

The Mouse on the Barroom Floor
Some Guinness was spilt on the barroom floor,
When the pub was shut for the night.
Out of his hole crept a wee brown mouse
& stood in the pale moon light.
He lapped up the frothy brew from the floor,
Then back on his haunches he sat
And all night long you could hear him roar;

Do you see a theme, besides the Irish? Ah I do love me Guinness. So I raise a pint to you! Sláinte (to your health!)

Beannachtaí na Féile Pádraig oraibh! (St Patrick's Day blessings upon you!)
